Community engagement
The Queensland Floods Commission of Inquiry held community meetings with eleven flood-affected communities in March 2011. The meetings, conducted by Deputy Commissioner Jim O’Sullivan, gave members of the community information about the Inquiry and how they could participate in the Inquiry process.
The meetings were open to members of these communities, and surrounding areas, who were directly affected by the floods.
Commissioner Justice Catherine Holmes also held community consultations with the Grantham and Murphys Creek communities, to give people who were directly affected by the floods an opportunity to tell the Inquiry about their experiences.
