Science, engineering and technology aspects of floods
A panel of experts from a range of scientific and engineering disciplines has released a report outlining many of the issues relating to floods and flood management.
Understanding Floods: Questions and Answers was written by the Queensland Floods Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) panel, convened by Queensland Chief Scientist, Dr Geoff Garrett.
The panel included 25 Australian and international experts in flood-related fields.
The report is designed to improve community understanding of flood-related issues, and the factors involved in developing better flood planning, mitigation and management.
The report is available on the website of the Chief Scientist.
